ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Information provided in English by the seller (not translated by Babelimmo)
Detached country house set in its own grounds of more than 3000 m2 of land with the possibility of purchasing more (up to one hectare) with wooded areas to the side and rear and beautiful views over the vineyards and surrounding countryside to the fore. Occasionally you may see deer and red squirrels in the garden. There is a 10 metre x 5 metre swimming pool adjacent to the house. This was newly built in 1998 and has the added feature of Roman style, walk in steps. There is a large integrated barbecue on the patio. Inside the house the bathroom is situated on the ground floor, off the hallway and at the end of the hallway you will find the lounge and kitchen both with wooden beamed ceilings. The kitchen has fitted units. The lounge is divided into two parts, the lounge itself and an ante-room with a connecting archway. Off the ante-room you will find the main bedroom with an en suite shower room. This bedroom has fitted wardrobes and has a patio door leading to the garden and pool area. At the back of the lounge there is a quaint staircase leading to the upstairs bedrooms. One bedroom overlooks the pool and front garden and the other overlooks the side garden. Oil fired central heating and reversible air conditioning in the main bedroom. The furniture and equipment can be purchased by negotiation with the owners. The house is not far from the village of Sigoules with all amenities, shops and a supermarket. It is near the St. Foy le Grande to Eymet road in the Southern part of the Dordogne, almost in the Lot et Garonne. It is set in beautiful countryside with a vineyard at the bottom of the garden! It is in an ideal location for exploring the surrounding area and visiting the numerous ancient towns and villages. There is a leisure park with water sports and a water chute near Sigoules. This lovely house is approx. 9 kilometres from the ancient bastide town of Eymet where you will find numerous shops, garages, doctors, restaurants and a small supermarket. For those of you who enjoy cricket Eymet has a cricket team whose ground is near the gendarmerie (police station). In the nearby village of Loubes Bernac there is a bar called Nelly's and she makes the most enormous, delicious pizzas while you wait and watch the world go by, sitting outside in the sunshine. Whatever topping you choose they are very inexpensive. Just about every town has a weekly market and in the summer Eymet has a night market as well. On these markets you will find just about anything from bric-a-brac and plants for the garden to piping hot, spit roasted chickens. The markets are truly old fashioned ones where you will find old ladies and gentlemen selling fresh fruit and vegetables so cheaply that you almost feel ashamed not to offer more. Further away, though not really very far, are the towns of St. Foy le Grande and Bergerac where you will find a more extensive range of goods if you really want to go shopping whilst on holiday. For a day out it is well worth visiting Perigueux with its narrow, cobbled streets where you will find just about anything you can think of. Sarlat and Beynac are breathtaking small towns built on the cliffs at the side of the Dordogne. You really have to be fit to walk all the way to the top at Beynac! There are boat trips along the Dordogne which go from here and Bergerac and it really is a lovely, relaxing way to see the chateaux and countryside. The area abounds with restaurants, both expensive and very cheap, and we can honestly say that we have not found one where we did not enjoy everything we ate. We find that the locals, far from being offhand and unfriendly as some people would have us believe, are the kindest, most helpful folk that you could wish to meet. Wherever you go, in a shop, post office or restaurant, just call out "Bonjour!" as this is the done thing over here. The French, in this area in particular, really do like the British. We have tried to give you a brief insight into the area where we hope you will want to make your home. Bergerac 30 mins. Bordeaux 1 hour. Bergerac airport (Ryanair and Flybe) 25 mins.
